Luca Leomazzi is a researcher at the VIB Inflammation Research Center (IRC) in Ghent, serving as DC6 of the Signature Network. His work centers on the analysis of single-cell and cytometry data, through the development of new algorithms and computational methods.

Specializing in the study of (pseudo)temporal dynamics and patient trajectories, Luca utilizes topological data analysis to interpret complex big data sets. His research spans from multi-omics to longitudinal domains and is aimed at providing a better understanding of how biological processes evolve in patient populations (with a particular emphasis on systemic autoimmune diseases).

At VIB IRC, Luca collaborates with the multidisciplinary team of Yvan Saeys.

Outside of his professional endeavours, he is an avid fan of Lazio football club and enjoys Italian cooking.
